Inflation rose further to 58.9%

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka says that the annual point surface inflation based on the National Consumer Price Index has been recorded at 58.9 percent in June 2022.

It is said that the monthly increase in the prices of items in both food and non-food categories is responsible for this rise in annual point inflation.

Accordingly, it is further stated that the annual point inflation in the food category has risen to 75.8 percent in June and the annual point inflation in the non-food category has risen to 43.6 percent in June.
