SLFP Abstain from voting in the election of the President - Leader and Former President Maithripala Sirisena

In the polls to elect a president, it was initially heard that a candidate from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party was going to be fielded, but now they are telling a different story.

Freedom Party Chairman, former President Maithripala Sirisena has commented to the media today that he decided to cast ballots or abstain from voting in the presidential election.

All the candidates said that they are doing so because they do not yet have a sense of a purpose that will solve the country's problems.

He hinted that this decision will be reached if SLNP has 14 votes or so and does not present its programme.
